Picture book by Arif Amin and Ghulam Rasool Deosai After seeing and reading the colors, I realized why we have been paying so little attention to these areas. The word Devsai is a combination of two words Dev and Sai meaning shadow.
A hundred years ago, few people used to pass through this area. Deosai, located at an altitude of fourteen thousand feet, is one of the highest plateau areas in the world after Tibet. The total area of Deosai is three thousand square feet. is
Deosai is heaven par excellence, its mysterious silence spans centuries, Deosai Skardu It is located at a distance of one and a half hours from its borders with Karakoram and Himalayas. Deosai is covered with snow for eight months of the year. Routes open in mid-June. Clouds and sun twinkle in winter. Sometimes the clouds appear so close to the ground that you can touch them.
There are hundreds of varieties of flowers in Deosai. According to florists, of which only 250 have been discovered so far. Due to the development of means of transport and access to social media, the number of tourists coming to Deosai has increased significantly. Went for the purpose of
As the improvement of roads and social media created awareness among the people of these remote areas, other problems also arose.
In their book, Arif Amin and Ghulam Rasool have given a world-class picture of this beautiful valley and mountain range with its flower colors and changing seasons.
According to Arif Amin, due to such a large number of tourists going to this area, the pollution is spreading their and there are many threats to the water and wildlife.
For example, the brown bear species is considered rare in the world and this species is fighting for its survival even in Deosai. Most people go to hunt it. Similarly, there is no adequate arrangement for disposal of garbage spread by tourists. When people throw away chewing gum after chewing, wild birds lose their lives trying to eat it. The government of Gilgit-Baltistan needs to conduct an awareness campaign in this regard. There is also a need for such laws so that the environment and climate cannot be polluted. Whether it is the GB government or the federal government, the environment is not among our priorities.
Non-Governmental Organizations like Dr. Anisur Rehman and Brigadier R. Akram associated with Himalayan Wildlife and Adventure Foundation are doing a good job in this.
The book was published in collaboration with Deosai’s Ring Engro Foods, who have previously published a book on the birds of Pakistan. Engro Foods deserves congratulations for introducing the bright face of Pakistan to the world by highlighting the different cultural colors of Pakistan through the book.
