Kund Malir on the Makran Coastal Highway, 240 km from Karachi, is one such place.
If traveling on RCD highway from Karachi, one has to take a left turn at Windar to go to Kund Malir and the sign here is the statue of ‘Princess of Hope’ which reminds one to travel on Makran Coastal Highway from here. will
The Makran Coastal Highway extends to Gwadar and there are archaeological, religious and recreational sites on both sides of the road.
Among them is the Hangul National Park, where many species of birds are also found in addition to Markhor.
In the lap of Hangul National Park, there is also the sacred Asthan Nani Temple of Hinduism and the most unique is the mud mound called Chandragupta, from which the mud keeps coming out with the pressure of the wind.
The blue water of Kund Malir
Kund Malir is a small Baloch fishing village perched on a hill with the sea at its feet. The blue water on the white sand and the waves of the sea attract the passers-by.
The construction of the Makran Coastal Highway and the beauty of Kund Malir’s churches on social media have brought tourists here and now, apart from weekly holidays, people are seen enjoying the blue waters of the sea with their families on the occasion of festivals. are
Kundalini was included in Asia’s 50 most beautiful beaches last year. The classification was done in terms of tourism and photography.
Compared to the well-known beaches of Karachi, Hawkes Bay, Mubarak Village and Kaka Peer, the sea here is not very deep and that is the reason why children and women also go into the sea freely.
Despite being located in Balochistan, the majority of tourists coming to Kund Malir are from Karachi, the capital of Sindh province, who come here in private vehicles or with tour groups.
When we reached Kund Malir, Mrs Farid from Karachi had come there with her family. According to him, the sea here is clean, there is solitude, there is no rush of people, families can come here because it is also safe.
Mrs. Rukhshi, who came from Karachi, said that the people have made the beach of Karachi dirty, there are even children’s diapers lying there, no such dirt has been seen here.
Improper accommodation arrangement
Most of the tourists who come to Kund Malir come on a ‘day trip’ but there are also people who spend the night here on a starry night by the sea.
In this regard, some huts have also been constructed on the beach, but their rent of 15 to 20 thousand rupees is not within the reach of the middle class.
Apart from this, many huts have been built along the beach which are available for Rs 1,000 to 1500 and most of the tourists stay in them.
There are also separate public toilets for ladies and gentlemen and this facility can be used after paying 30 rupees per person.
Due to non-availability of electricity, overnight tourists bring generators or charged lights with them.
Salman Hussain came here along with a dozen of his friends. He said, ‘We had brought with us a generator and echo sound etc. Barbequed at night and prepared breakfast here.
Very quiet and clean environment and great views. Now I plan to come here with my family.
Ismat Naheed, a resident of Karachi, suggested that if a small ramp is built on the beach, huts are built and some facilities are provided, many people will come here.
Food and drink arrangement
If you feel hungry after bathing in the sea, there is also a hotel on the beach of Kund Malir where food consisting of lentils, vegetables, chicken and rice is available at a reasonable price, but tourists who come here either cook their own food. Or they bring it from home.
Food is readily available, but fresh drinking water is rare here. A tanker is available for five to seven thousand rupees, while the local population gets fresh water from wells.
Therefore, tourists coming to Kund Malir should remember to carry drinking water with them.
Availability of fuel
The journey from Karachi to Kund Malir is about 250 km and due to the long journey, apart from food and water, it is important to take care of fuel as well.
There is no large population on the route from Vander to Kund Malir. Here, mobile phone signals also disappear in some areas, but some networks continue to work.
The Balochistan government has also decided to build a resort at Kund Malir, but there is no rescue facility here and no hospital is available in the distance. Its clean water and pollution-free environment are its real beauty.
Shahzad Ahmed, a young man, said that the tourists who come here have a duty to keep the beach clean, throw the garbage they bring back in a garbage can or in any garbage place or Put it down otherwise the situation here will also be like Karachi.
The mysterious princess of hope
If bathing in the sea and walking on the beach of Kund Malir is to your heart’s content, another creation of nature about 24 km from here is of interest to the tourists and that is the unique clay-textured mountains that have been carved out over the past several centuries. During the time, the wind passing through there has carved something as if they were the work of an expert stone carver.
Sometimes they seem to give a glimpse of the famous Abolhole of Egypt, and sometimes the view of an ancient fort comes to the fore. A mound located in the middle of these mountains has been named as ‘Princess of Hope’.
From a distance, this mound of mud looks like a princess wearing a frock and a crown on her head.
Famous Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has made this mysterious statue in the desert known as ‘Princess of Hope’.
The nature sceneries on both sides of the Makran Coastal Highway are like an open museum, now it depends on the tourists how adventurous they are and where to park their vehicles.
